Halloween tattoos

halloween tattoo bats

The scariest night of the year is around the corner: Halloween is coming! Halloween has been popular in the United States and the United Kingdom for decades, but these days Halloween fever has spread far and wide across the world. Chances are that Halloween parties or Halloween tours will also be part of your neighborhood this year, and children will take to the streets with that familiar chant of “trick or treat!”

For one crazy, creepy night of the year, most of the fun of Halloween is in dressing the part – and preferably being as scary as possible. Besides masks, wigs and other accessories, temporary Halloween tattoos will add the finishing touch (unless of course you’re so fanatical that you’d prefer a ‘real’ tattoo). This year the choice of Halloween tattoos is vast: from small, cute pumpkins to truly ‘horrifying’ tattoos. This fun ‘scarefest’ seems to have inspired tattoo designers all over the world.

Cute Halloween tattoos

For those of you who are not a big fan of horror and blood, there are many temporary tattoos available that are not so gory, but still make a bold (and suitably creepy) statement:

Wounds and scars

Nothing is as gruesome as someone with a great gaping wound or a horrific looking scar! There are some amazing temporary tattoos on the market that make those wounds and scars seem chillingly realistic.

The packets of different tattoos from Tinsley Transfers – aptly named Gorywood – are especially very popular:

Tinsley Transfers

We have written about Christien Tinsley previously, a special effects makeup artist in Hollywood (read the blog post here). He has built his whole career around designing creepy and gory temporary tattoos. For example, not only the Gorywood packets (see above) but his other designs are also like something straight out of a horror movie.

And let’s not forget the ‘face-tattoos‘ by Christien Tinsley and the temporary tattoos from his zombie series. The scary combination of ‘gruesome’ temporary tattoos together with a creepy Halloween outfit will definitely send chills down the spines of everyone who crosses your path on the night!

See the whole range of Tinsley Transfers here. Tattoo For A Week was chosen as one of only two distributors for the European market!

Extreme make-up

For those of you who plan on doing makeup, Halloween is the perfect occasion to go over the top. Everything and anything goes! With a little practice and ingenuity, you too can imitate these looks. It does not matter if it’s not very neat – that often makes it even creepier!

Many make-up artists are inspired by Halloween because they can really let their imaginations run wild. In the weeks before Halloween, you see also a lot of their work on internet blogs. The designs of this French make-up artist, for example, are really impressive.

Nail varnish

To really round off your look perfectly, why not change your nail polish for the occasion as well? Obviously there are pre-made synthetic nails available, but why not try your hand at your own designs? With only a few colors, and a steady hand, you may be amazed at the result!

Dracula or zombie?

Are you ready? Have you decided what you want to be this year? Then finish off your look with temporary tattoos! You’ll find the full Halloween range from Tattoo For A Week here. All our products are anti-allergenic and meet international safety standards. And best of all, we can deliver the tattoo of your choice in just a few days!

We realize only too well that the temporary Halloween tattoos often have to serve for one night only. But those who want to, can still show off their temporary tattoos for a few more days. And for those of you who don’t want to show up at work with a ‘gaping head wound’ or some bats on the arm, the tattoos can be easily removed with Limisan tattoo remover, or with alcohol or any oil.

Happy Halloween!

Justin Timberlakes Tattoos

Justin timberlake - www.tattooforaweek.comJustin Timberlake has been in show business for quite some time. He started as a young boy in the Mickey Mouse Club together with Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Ryan Gosling. In the 90s, he hit it big with his boyband *NSYNC. With hits like “Bye, bye, bye”, “I want you back” and “Tearin up my heart”, the five studs won the world over topping the charts. In 2002, he successfully went solo. The track “Sexyback” particularly made him extremely popular. Meanwhile, he’s released three solo albums and branched out into film with his debuts as an actor in “The social network” and “Alpha dog”.

If there’s one thing about Justin, you can trust he has always been in the spotlight. Before his marriage to Jessica Biel in 2012, he had relationships with celebrity personalities like Britney Spears and Cameron Diaz. He doesn’t leave faithful fans hanging either. It was no secret that of the five *NSYNC boys, he was by far the most popular. His style definitely changed over the years. He went from that innocent boyband look to a more macho image, sporting tatts up and down his body. The tatts each symbolize a significant aspect of Justin’s life.

Justin Timberlake cross tattoo - www.tattooforaweek.com

Tattooed on Justin’s left arm is a prominent image of a cross. Justin is from Memphis, a town in what is known as the Bible Belt in the USA, a circuit of southern states where relgion plays a major role and the values of church and prayer are preeminent. His grandfather was a pastor there and his father was a director of the church choir. So it’s no wonder that religion and spirituality are majorly important to Justin.

In 2007, Britney Spears got a very similar tattoo. Gossip got around that this meant the couple was getting back together, but Justin dismissed such rumors and appeared more and more in public with his current wife, actress Jessica Biel.

Guardian Angel

The most remarkable tattoo is on Justin’s back. It shows an angel bearing the initials of his mother. His mother has always been his biggest supporter and has accompanied him on many occasions to awards ceremonies. Above the angel, there is the word “Guardian”. That refers to his sister who died shortly after she was born. He sees her as his guardian angel. The whole tatt appears on a sort of heavenly, angelic backdrop.

justin timberlake flames tattoo - www.tattooforaweek.com Justin Timberlake Initials tattoo - www.tattooforaweek.comMany of Justins tattoos refer to his greatest passion: his music. Just like the other members of *NSYNC, he got a flaming tattoo on his right ankle, which was a logo to represent the success years with the band. Right underneath that are red velvet ropes, like the ones you see on the red carpet, which were done to symbolize the popularity of the group. Towards the front, his tatt shows his initials J.R.T. which stands for Justin Randall Timberlake.

He also has a tatt of a marionette. Fans will surely remember when the fellas were acting like puppets at the time when they put out videos of “Bye bye bye” and “It’s gotta be me.”

Tatted on his left ankle is a Chinese symbol for “music”.

Alpha dog

justin timberlake alpha dog tattoo 2 - www.tattooforaweek.com Justin Timberlake alpha dog tattoo - www.tattooforaweek.com

Apart from these tattoos, Justin had fake tatts for a while when he acted in the film “Alpha Dog”. He played a nefarious gang member. The temporary tattoos were put on by famous SFX artist Christien Tinsley (read more about it on the TattooForAWeek blog). The Tinsley tatts showed the year 1976 on his chest, a large tattoo of the holy virgin Mary on his arm, and a number of Chinese symbols. One of the latter needed to be redone. Tinsley mistakenly designed a tatt that said “ice skating” on Justin’s body, which didn’t seem very macho for a gang member…

And one more?

Justin Timberlake Jesscia Biel - www.tattooforaweek.com

Justin’s mother is not much of a fan of tattoos. Years ago, she allowed him to get one more, the one of his future wife. With the arrival of his son Silas this week, it will perhaps be a tough choice to make!
